Tier 8 is here!
Theupdate you have all been waiting for it finally here! The server has re-opened, and tier 8 is fully functioning. The main content of Tier 8 includes: Rust City - This is the new main hub town. Here you can access the other main areas of tier 8, as well as spend currencies you find in tier 8 areas. One of the main things to note about this area is that you can select a class for the first time, and purchase class gear with tokens you recieve from quests and boss drops.
Tainted Library - This is the first area of tier 8. This area has a lower difficulty than the other areas, and is meant to act as a bridge between tier 7 gear and tier 8. As you complete the quests here, you will be rewarded with gear that is a bit more suited to handling the tier 8 content. Without completing this area, you also will not be able to start the next area at all, so make sure you do! Overrun Village - This is where things get more difficult. This is the 2nd area of tier 8, and is the area that contains enough quests to get a full set of class gear vouchers. Players will likely take a while to get through this area, as the monsters are relentless and abundant, and some of the items you need to find are fairly out of the way and hidden. Your troubles will be rewarded though, as the new class system is powerful, and completely changes the way you play! Lonely Cove - This is it, the big boss fight of tier 8. This area is home to only 2 things, the first being a quest that will grant you access to the boss area, and the boss dungeon itself. This boss encounter is designed for multiple players to complete, until you are into the very high tiers of gear, in which case solo-ing is possible. As with any area, if you are persistant enough I am sure some players will be able to solo it, but it will certainly not be reliable. The drops from this boss are the only way to get advanced and superior class armor vouchers. HiddenContent - Unlike previous tiers that have been fairly straight-forward, this tier contains a ton of hidden content. There is a hidden hub town, new hidden areas and dungeons, and evena hidden boss fight, all with associated quests, shops, drops, and rewards. This content is for the experienced players who wish to go beyond the standard content of tier 8, and find something truly special. The completion of this content will be required for players who wish to get the Tier 8 Hero title, which also comes with a prticle effect around the player (this can be turned off).
Along with tier 8 has come a few other things. A big thing is that I have fixed a large bug that caused all items in treasure chests hidden around the world to lose their color information for their names and lore. This bug caused all of these items to stop being recognized as quest items for quests, or as currency for shops, which is a massive issue. To fix this, I have replaced every quest item with new versions that are not broken, as well as added an option to exchange the broken versions of currency in for working versions in most shops that use that currency. The only issue this creates is that existing quest items will no longer work. This will affect players who have say 5 out of 10 quest items needed for a quest and still need to find the rest. Players can contact me while I am online (hip_to_be_square) and I will exchange broken quest items for working versions.
We are also now hosting the server via CreeperHost, rather than on my home PC. Players should expect an improved playing experience because of this. As we recieve more donations and VIP subscribers, the hosting will be improved for an even smoother experienced and larger player limit.
